PFUJ condemns usurping of employees' gratuity and dues by Business Recorder

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has strongly condemned the decision of Business Recorder management that not only dismissed journalists without reason but also usurped their gratuity and pending salaries.

In a joint statement, PFUJ President Shahzada Zulfiqar and Secretary-General Nasir Zaidi said the management’s move was inhumane and could not be ignored.

Gratuity is deducted from an individual employee’s salary. The organization has to pay it after his or her retirement or whenever the staff member leaves the organization.

They urged the management and owners of the publication, to pay gratuity and pending dues to the sacked journalists and media workers.
